01 / OUR SERVICES

The right assessment.
A clear way forward.

Support for architects, developers, property owners and building services designers. Find the right starting point for your project.

01 / RESIDENTIAL ENERGY

Part L SAP calculations

Understand your dwelling’s energy performance and support the applicable Part L submission.

Assessment details

Design-stage and as-built SAP calculations consider the building fabric, heating, ventilation, hot water and renewable energy systems. Identify performance gaps while there is still time to refine the design.

Useful starting information: floor plans, elevations, construction details and proposed services.

Part L guidance — England ↗Enquire about SAP
02 / COMMERCIAL ENERGY

Commercial SBEM calculations

Assess the energy performance of non-domestic buildings and support compliance reporting.

Assessment details

SBEM — the Simplified Building Energy Model — considers the building fabric and fixed services, including heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting. Design-stage and as-built assessments help document the proposed and completed building.

Useful starting information: drawings, fabric specifications, activity zones and building services schedules.

National Calculation Methodology ↗Enquire about SBEM
03 / ENERGY CERTIFICATION

Energy Performance Certificates

EPC assessments for new dwellings and commercial property, with a clear view of energy performance.

Assessment details

New-dwelling EPC work can be coordinated with the as-built SAP assessment. Commercial EPC enquiries are welcome from across the UK. Site visit arrangements are confirmed when agreeing the project scope.

Useful starting information: property location, use, floor area, available plans and the reason the EPC is required.

04 / EXISTING BUILDINGS

MEES reports

Review energy performance and improvement options for privately rented property.

Assessment details

Assess the existing EPC position and explore measures that could improve the rating. A MEES report helps landlords and property managers plan improvements around the standards relevant to their property.

Useful starting information: current EPC, property details, building specifications and any planned refurbishment.

Non-domestic MEES guidance ↗Enquire about MEES
05 / OVERHEATING

Part O DSM assessments

Assess overheating risk and explore design measures that help keep new homes comfortable.

Assessment details

Dynamic simulation modelling evaluates how a building responds to weather, solar gains and ventilation. For Part O projects in England, the dynamic thermal modelling route uses CIBSE TM59 with the requirements set out in Approved Document O.

Useful starting information: drawings, orientation, glazing specification, shading and ventilation strategy.

Part O guidance — England ↗Enquire about overheating
06 / WATER EFFICIENCY

Part G water calculations

Check the predicted water use of a dwelling against its applicable water efficiency target.

Assessment details

A water efficiency calculation brings together the specified taps, showers, baths, WCs and appliances. Review fixture choices and prepare supporting calculations for the project’s water efficiency requirements.

Useful starting information: sanitaryware schedules, flow rates, flush volumes, appliance specifications and any planning water target.

07 / HEATING DESIGN

Heat load calculations

Establish room-by-room heating demand to inform heat source and emitter selection.

Assessment details

Review heat loss through the building fabric and ventilation to establish the design heating load. The results support decisions about heat pumps, radiators and underfloor heating.

Useful starting information: dimensions, fabric build-ups, U-values, ventilation details and design temperatures.

Enquire about heat loads
08 / BUILDING SERVICES

Hot water load calculations

Understand hot water demand to support appropriate storage and generation capacity.

Assessment details

Consider occupancy, outlets and expected usage patterns to assess hot water demand. Use the findings to inform storage volume, recovery requirements and system design.

Useful starting information: building use, occupancy, outlet schedule, demand profile and proposed hot water system.
